Ingredients of Ranch Mac & Cheese
- Prepare 1 of (16oz.) package shell macaroni.
- Prepare 1 cup of milk.
- It's 1/4 cup of butter.
- Prepare 1 envelope of Ranch salad dressing mix.
- Prepare 1 tsp of garlic salt.
- It's 1 tsp of black pepper.
- You need 1 tbsp of sugar( to balance out all the salt. Don't add salt until you taste. Also it will taste salty but after you mix it with the macaroni its fine).
- You need 2 cup of Shredded cheddar cheese mixture.
- You need 5 oz of Velveeta cheese.
- It's 1/2 cup of sour cream.
- Prepare 1 cup of Shredded Colby jack.
Ranch Mac & Cheese step by step
- Cook macaroni according to package directions.
- Meanwhile, in medium saucepan, combine milk, butter, dressing mix, garlic salt, pepper and sugar; heat through.
- Stir in cheddar cheese mixture and Velveeta cheese until melted.
- Stir in sour cream. Keep this on low until noodles are cooked. It will be a little runny but it will thicken up in the oven.
- Drain macaroni and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Add macaroni to cheese sauce and stir until combined.
- Transfer macaroni and cheese to a greased, 13x9 baking dish. Top with Colby jack cheese. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes.
