Ingredients of Chilli Coconut Beef

  1. It's 500 grams of Blade steak.
  2. It's 1 of Vegetable oil for frying.
  3. It's 8 stick of Spring onion, sliced.
  4. You need 2 tsp of Grated ginger.
  5. Prepare 2 of Red chillies, chopped.
  6. You need 1 clove of garlic, chopped.
  7. It's 2 tsp of Lemon zest.
  8. Prepare 1 tsp of Lemon juice.
  9. It's 4 tbsp of Desiccated coconut.
  10. You need 1 1/2 cup of Water.
  11. You need 1 can of Coconut milk (440 ml).
  12. Prepare 1 tsp of White sugar.
  13. You need 1 of Fresh ground black pepper to taste.

Chilli Coconut Beef instructions

  1. Trim any excess fat off meat at cut into 2cm cubes..
  2. Heat oil in a large heavy based pan on medium heat and brown beef quickly in small batches. Drain on paper towel and set aside..
  3. Mix spring onion, garlic, ginger, zest and lemon juice in a bowl and set aside..
  4. Cook coconut in a dry pan until browned. This will be quick so stir continuously and removed from pan into a cool bowl when done..
  5. In the heavy base pan- add a little oil (if needed) and cook the spring onion mixture on low heat for 5 minutes..
  6. Now add coconut and cook for 1 minute..
  7. Add meat, water, sugar, coconut milk and pepper and simmer (uncovered) for 45min to an hour. Meat will be tender and sauce thickened..
  8. Serve with boiled rice. Really really tasty- one of my favourites. Enjoy!.
