Ingredients of Chilli Coconut Beef
- It's 500 grams of Blade steak.
- It's 1 of Vegetable oil for frying.
- It's 8 stick of Spring onion, sliced.
- You need 2 tsp of Grated ginger.
- Prepare 2 of Red chillies, chopped.
- You need 1 clove of garlic, chopped.
- It's 2 tsp of Lemon zest.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Lemon juice.
- It's 4 tbsp of Desiccated coconut.
- You need 1 1/2 cup of Water.
- You need 1 can of Coconut milk (440 ml).
- Prepare 1 tsp of White sugar.
- You need 1 of Fresh ground black pepper to taste.
Chilli Coconut Beef instructions
- Trim any excess fat off meat at cut into 2cm cubes..
- Heat oil in a large heavy based pan on medium heat and brown beef quickly in small batches. Drain on paper towel and set aside..
- Mix spring onion, garlic, ginger, zest and lemon juice in a bowl and set aside..
- Cook coconut in a dry pan until browned. This will be quick so stir continuously and removed from pan into a cool bowl when done..
- In the heavy base pan- add a little oil (if needed) and cook the spring onion mixture on low heat for 5 minutes..
- Now add coconut and cook for 1 minute..
- Add meat, water, sugar, coconut milk and pepper and simmer (uncovered) for 45min to an hour. Meat will be tender and sauce thickened..
- Serve with boiled rice. Really really tasty- one of my favourites. Enjoy!.
